BITUMEN PAINT- Bituminous Anti Corrosion Multi Purpose Coating
Bitumen paint is a black, tar-like substance made from bitumen (a petroleum-based product) mixed with solvents to make it easy to apply. Once dried, it forms a waterproof and corrosion-resistant coating.
Purpose in Footing Wall Construction
1. Waterproofing: Prevents water ingress from the soil into the foundation walls, protecting against dampness and capillary action.
2. Protection from Chemicals: Protects concrete or masonry from salts, acids, and chemicals present in soil.
3. Anti-corrosion: If there are any embedded steel parts, bitumen paint protects them from rust and corrosion.
